My Time at Pampers!

During my semester in baby care at P&G, I was pushed to learn about a new product I had honestly avoided using in my life thus far: diapers. Through this experience however, I was able to gain an understanding of the extremely complex structure and materials that make up this product. Beyond technical prototyping, CAD exploration, and experimenting with materiality, I also learned valuable skills in consumer insights and research.

I was able to attend & moderate consumer research interviews while recording learnings on the fly. My trend analysis skills developed as I forecasted what upcoming parents are looking for. I then applied those learnings to strategic concepts across taped diapers, pant diapers, and wipes. Looking at every aspect from product features, to product graphics, shelf presence, digital communication, & social media.

One of my biggest impacts involved upskilling the baby care design team on new technology by discovering tangible ways they could integrate platforms to accelerate their workflow. This involved networking across both internal and external teams, and endless trial and error before creating a 200 page in-depth program toolkit specific to my team.

I was also able to lead several global upskilling sessions. The impact of this project is projected to manifest into saving countless hours and finances typically spent on internal digital processes and photo shoots.

This opportunity pushed me to not only quickly comprehend the physical product makeup, but to also understand the brand’s position within the market, and to use those skills to audit competitors, create consumer and market strategies, and deeply understand the problems to solve in order to achieve continued success.
